Lynn Francom

June 29, 1920 — October 2, 2012

Lynn Kerr Francom
Lynn quietly slipped way on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the age of 92, surrounded by his family. Lynn was born on June 29, 1920 in Payson, Utah to Emma Ida Kerr and Albert Lester Francom.Growing up Lynn learned self-reliance and hard work. He helped support his family by thinning onions and beets on local farms and any other work he could find. It was during this time he developed a love for hunting and fishing.
Lynn married Mary Margaret Shaul on December 6, 1944 in Provo, UT. They were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple.
During World War II he worked in the Douglas Aircraft plant in California, and then moved to Oregon working in the shipyards. He returned to Utah where he worked for 40 years as a floor covering contractor. He was very creative and had a wonderful reputation. He later worked at Valtek as a Master Mechanic before retiring.
After the love of his life passed away, he lived with his son Mark and family in the Ogden area. He enjoyed his independence, jumping in his Blazer and driving for hours to see his family or to find a canyon and look at the leaves change colors. He was a kind and loving grandpa and friend. Lynn lived a full life and loved to share stories of his adventures to everyone who would listen. He had a wonderful disposition and was loved by those around him.
He moved to Emeritus Assisted Living in Ogden and then to Legacy House in Bountiful.
Lynn is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary, their daughter Shauna, his parents, a brother and a sister. He is survived by his younger sister, Nellie Ferguson and his three children: Michael (Lucy) Francom, Lehi; Mark (Jean) Francom, Pueblo, CO; Vicki (Lynn) Clayson, Bountiful. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren with extended family; 4 grand children and 18 great grand children.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the Payson cemetery. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.

His family would like to thank all the care givers who made it possible for him to live an independent life. A special thank you to Bernadette for making his passing peaceful.
