Lynn Jenkins

Lynn Edwin Jenkins, 87, departed this life March 11, 2008 at his home in Bountiful. He was born in Logan, on October 19, 1920, to Charles and Martha Dolder Jenkins. His older brother Charles, Jr. and his younger sister Carol predeceased him. His younger brother Lowell D. Jenkins resides in Logan. Lynn’s early home was in Logan. He attended Logan City Schools and was a graduate of Utah State University. He served an LDS mission in the Eastern States, primarily in up-state New York. He is a veteran of WW II and an Ensign, U.S. Navy. He was an accomplished fisher, both the water variety and of men. Lynn had a compassion for his fellowman and made friends around the world. On April 11, 1947 he married Roma Hailstone in the Salt Lake Temple. They have six children, James Kristine, Susan, Douglas Connie, Nancy Thad, David Pam, and Carol Jeff. Lynn and Roma are the proud grandparents of 33 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, with two more expected soon. His family is and has been Lynn’s most precious possession. For much of his life Lynn’s employment has been associated with the Bennett Glass and Paint Company. Beginning as a young boy working for his father at the Logan Hardware he enjoyed this career until his retirement in 1981 as Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. Lynn then made a career of his retirement. He and Roma served missions for the Church in South Carolina and New Zealand, he operated a hobby farm in Sterling, Utah, he served for nearly a decade as Executive Director of the Executives Association of Salt Lake City, where he had previously served as president. Interspersed within these activities were travels throughout the world, fishing, and music. Lynn has been a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in many positions of responsibility including missionary, Stake Mission President, Bishop, High Priests Group Leader, and as Branch President for 20 years at two nursing care facilities, and most recently organist at the Bountiful Temple. Funeral services will be held at the Woodland Hills Ward 640 South 750 East, Bountiful, at 11:00 am, Saturday March 15, 2008, Bishop Alan Collins conducting. A viewing will be held Friday March 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful. Graveside services will be at the Logan City Cemetery at approximately 2:30 pm.
