Lynnette Shaw Chamberlain

June 28, 1939 — October 16, 2018

Lynnette Kay Long Shaw Chamberlain returned to her Heavenly Father on Oct 17, 2018. To say she will be missed is an understatement.

Lynnette was born on Jun 28, 1939 to Frank H. and Belva F. Long, in Ogden UT. She graduated from Ogden High School, and attended BYU. She worked for the State of Utah for many years in Recovery Services and DCFS.

Lynnette married William (Bill) O. Shaw, Jr., in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sep 8, 1961. They had 52 happy years together, and are the parents to 5 children. Bill passed away Jun 16, 2013. Lynnette found joy again and married Robert E. Chamberlain on Apr 26, 2014, gaining 5 children and 11 grandchildren. Robert proved to be a caring and constant companion, bringing her much love and comfort during her final days here on earth.

Despite her distaste for early mornings, Lynnette’s love for the temple overruled and she served as a temple worker for many years. She later served with her husband Bill in the Utah Ogden mission. She had a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and followed His example. She loved to give and there was rarely a baby near that did not receive one of her afghans or blankets. She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed sharing LDS history. Lynnette was a natural friend and carried many of those relationships over decades. Her greatest joy was being with family and friends, sharing her talents and quirky personality.

Lynnette is preceded in death by her husband Bill; children Melanie and Tyler. She is survived by her husband Robert; children Gregory Shaw, Stephanie (Tim) Pike, and Jennifer Shaw; grandchildren Derek (Kianna) Pike, Chelsea (Jordon) O’Brien; great-grandson Finn Pike and beloved dog Tag.

A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Tuesday Oct. 23, 2018 from 6-8pm. A second viewing will be held Wednesday Oct. 24, 2018 from 9:45-10:45 am at the 43rd Ward building, 990 N 100 W, Bountiful, prior to the 11:00 am funeral service.
