Our beloved dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, and brother Max John Eschler passed away peacefully at his home on June 5, 2009. He was born August 27th, 1918 in Bern Idaho to Anna Elizabeth and Louis Moroni Eschler. He attended schools in Bear Lake Valley and graduated from Montpelier High School. He married Katherine Deana Johnson on January 8, 1947. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and sharp wit, as well as a dedicated father, great husband, wonderful grandfather, proud of his Swiss heritage. He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and faithfully served in his callings including, Elders Quorum, Bishopric, Gospel Doctrine teacher, Sunday School Presidency, and High Council. He served missions with his wife to Jackson, Mississippi, Rochester, New York, and Temple Square. He was proud of his country and served five years during World War II as a tank commander in Africa and Italy as a member of the 752nd Tank Battalion. He is survived by his children Carol Ann Cissy and Lynn Cook of Centerville, Lee and Brenda Eschler, Woods Cross, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Two sisters Theda Leak and Donna Kennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years and his beloved son, Douglas Jay Cubby Eschler. Funeral Services will held Friday, June 12 at 1:00 pm at the Rose Park Stake Center, 760 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 11, 7:00-9:00 pm, Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Main, Bountiful, and at the church preceding the service, 11:30am to 12:30pm. Graveside service at Montpelier Idaho Cemetery Saturday June 13, 1:00pm
