Madlyn Perkins Holladay

April 25, 1930 — October 7, 2015

Madlyn Perkins Holladay passed away Wednesday morning, October 7th in Salt Lake City Utah.

She was born April 25, 1930 in Wellsville Utah to Walter and Venna Perkins.

She spent her early life in Cache Valley, graduating from South Cache High School with honors.   During those years she gained a love for learning, a determination and the ability to work until all that was needed or required was done.  Her greatest blessing during those years was the love she shared with her Mother, Father, and her brother Richard.   The bond she and Richard share has grown deeper throughout her life.

The summer following her graduation she moved to Salt Lake City to attend the LDS Business College.  The skills she acquired gave her opportunity to work at South Bountiful Elementary and Woods Cross Elementary as a secretary for many years.

She met, dated and was sealed to her eternal companion Hollis T. Holladay in the Logan Temple September 12, 1951.  They moved to Bountiful where they spent their life together.   They found great pleasure and joy in their family and good lifelong friends.

Madlyn was an active member of the LDS church.  She loved church service, and was given many opportunities to serve within her ward and stake.  She has left a lasting legacy for many, as we reflect on the blessings of her 25 years of temple service. She loved serving in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples.

Survived by her two children, Lynette (Doug) Weaver of Draper Utah and Dale (Nancy) Holladay of Fremont California.  10, grandchildren and 19, great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her husband Hollis, her mother and father, and sweet niece Tami.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 20th at 11:00a.m at the Mueller Park 5th Ward chapel, 1320 East 1975 South, Bountiful.  Friends and family may call between 9:30am and 10:45am at the church. Interment:  Lakeview Memorial Park.  Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
