Our father, Marcus Reaugh McKasson, passed away on January 26, 2023, in West Jordan, Utah. He had endured several medical issues in recent years and died peacefully at his home.
Marc was born on December 21, 1952, to C.T. and Mary Alice McKasson in McAllen, Texas. He was the youngest of four children and dearly loved his two sisters, Judith and Nancy, and his brother, Stephen.
Marc was raised in McAllen and had great love and pride for his home state of Texas. He excelled at sports in his youth and played on multiple sports teams for McAllen High School, where he graduated in 1971.
Marc served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1972-1974 in the New England Mission, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. He treasured his time as a missionary and spoke fondly of it throughout his life.
Marc married Natalie Bradford in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on April 22,1975, and together they have 5 children; Jennifer, Erin, Bradford, Daniel, and Scott; and 13 grandchildren. Marc was a loving father and grandfather, and his family meant the world to him.
Marc attended Brigham Young University, then pursued an interest in radio broadcasting, becoming a local DJ in the Provo, Utah area from 1981-1984. He was well-loved for his engaging and humorous personality on the air, as well as his extensive knowledge of and passion for music.
Marc loved aviation, and often took opportunities to enjoy air shows and museums. He was passionate about golf, had a beautiful singing voice, and never missed an opportunity to cheer for his beloved BYU Cougars.
Marc spent his professional years in the freight brokerage industry, becoming a skilled manager for multiple trucking companies. He spent the last 10 years of his career working in telecommunications, retiring in 2018. After retirement, he enjoyed more quality time with grandchildren, watching soccer games, baseball tournaments, band concerts and more.
Marc had a testimony of the Savior and expressed often his deep love for Him. He found solace and comfort in the scriptures and in the words of modern Prophets. He attended the temple faithfully in the final months of his life and was a remarkable example of faith and perseverance.
