Marell Johnson 1920 – 2011 Our beloved father, Marell Johnson, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2011. His last moments were spent taking a short walk outdoors, hopeful for spring. He was born March 27, 1920 in Emery, Utah, the son of Stanford and Artemisia Johnson. He married Luana Black on September 5, 1952 in the Manti LDS Temple. They enjoyed 54 years of companionship and love. He had a great love for the Lord and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He especially enjoyed the many years that he served as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple. He served his country in WWII fighting on the front lines of the Aleutian Islands, and later received an honorable discharge. He retired after many years from Hill Air Force Base where he served as a supervising inspector in maintenance. His passions and hobbies were: his family, gardening, fishing, puzzles, airplanes and Harleys. He was a kind, loving and devoted husband and father. He patiently endured the challenges life presented him like the gentle giant that he was. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, Deril and Bruce, his wife and sweetheart, and also his son, Alan. He is survived by his brother, Clair (Lois); sister-in-law, Betty; his daughters and their husbands, Lynne(Byron)Arnold, Debbie (Wayne) Sowers, Darlene (Richard) Duncan, and Susan (Doug) Bons; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
