Margaret Ruth Hendy Bodily died with a wink in her eye, her leg up high, and waving bye bye on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Margaret was born in Cambridge, England on February 11, 1920 to Sidney Godwin and Isabella Hendy. She attended school in Cambridge and London. During the World War II Blitz on London, Margaret was in the Civil Defense. She later joined the Women=s Land Army. During the War, Margaret met and married Glenn LeRoy Bodily, who was serving in the 130th Station Hospital. The two were married in Wiltshire, England on May 13, 1944. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on May 9, 1950. Margaret moved to the United States in March 1946 living in Burley, Idaho with her husband who worked as an agricultural extension agent. She taught at a local ballet school and went on to become a nurse at Cassia Memorial Hospital. Margaret and Glenn moved to Owyhee County where Margaret continued her nursing career at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She retired from nursing in February of 1979. Margaret and Glenn moved to Caldwell, Idaho and lived there until 1989 when they relocated to Bountiful, Utah. Margaret and Glenn had six children. She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Warren Bodily (Marian), Keith Bodily (Cherie), Peter Bodily (DeDe), Rama Jean Bodily, Melanie Galbraith (Roy), and Margaret Anne Davies (Ross). She has 29 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Bodily, her parents, Sidney and Isabella Hendy, and her sisters, Elizabeth and Edith.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Orchard 1st Ward, 3707 S 800 W, Bountiful. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, and Thursday from 9-9:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Whitney Cemetery, Idaho at 2:00 pm.
