Midge was born in Salt Lake City, September 14, 1925 to Klaas Cornelius and Margaret (Londema) VanDuinen.
She received her schooling in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School. She was
employed as a bookkeeper at Zions Bank and ZCMI before marrying Byron Snow Gibbs in the Salt Lake Temple, October 2, 1944.
They shared a joyful companionship of 77 years and are the parents of four children whom they treasure, love, and reared in a home decorated by her artistic hands and loving heart. Her lifetime motto was her favorite scripture “And behold, all that He requires of you is to keep his commandments.” (Mosiah 2:22)
She had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved to serve. With her husband Byron, they
completed five missions: a temple service mission, an area church service mission in the
Philippines, a senior couple mission in Colorado, a Utah State Prison service mission, and a branch leadership mission at Utah State Veteran’s Nursing Home.
Midge died on November 27, 2021 at age 96. She is survived by her husband, Byron Snow Gibbs: children; Randall (Kristine) Gibbs, Robert (Sandra) Gibbs, Cynthia (Franklin) Richards, Janet Gibbs Priddy, 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Helen (Don) Pickett.
