Margarette Simmons

Margarette Simmons age 90 passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 in Bountiful, Utah of natural causes. She was born January 24, 1916 in Pocatello, Idaho to Elijah William Hancock and Mildred Egbert Hancock the 3rd child of 10 children. Attended schools in Pocatello. Married Edward Simmons October 11, 1933 in Pocatello, Idaho which was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS Church, was involved in genealogy and was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. In 1959 she moved to Bountiful, Utah and was employed at the South Davis School District. She loved children and taught them many things. She enjoyed camping with her family, and left us long lasting memories. She is survived by her 4 children, Joan M. Gary Clawson, Edward E. Barbara Simmons of Pocatello; Robert L. Diane Simmons of Boise and Cheryl C. Ralph Sherwood of Bountiful; 20 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, parents, siblings, 3 great-grandsons, 1 great-great grandson. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 58th Ward, 200 North 200 West. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Friday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
