Margaret "Marge" Ellen Houskeeper

Our dear beautiful loving angel mother Marge Houskeeper passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022, at the age of 82 after a valiant fight with multiple health issues including cancer. She returned joyfully to her Heavenly Father, Savior and loved ones who preceded her in death. Marge was born September 1, 1940, in Salt Lake City Utah to Judith Elizabeth Sjoberg and Ralph Stevens Rieben. She married Furless Junior Houskeeper on October 1, 1962, in the Logan Utah temple.  She was the cherished mother to six children. They raised their children in Salt Lake City, Vernal and Bountiful Utah. While raising her family in Vernal she learned to milk cows and buck bales. She loved our cow Jersey-Jane getting up before the crack of dawn to milk her with her son Greg. She was strong and loved the outdoors.

Marge was a very hard worker. She was a well-known and beloved lunch lady for over 20 years. She worked at many different schools in Davis County and managed the lunch program at Bountiful, Boulton and Woods Cross Elementary.

As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marge served in many different callings including Relief Society President, Primary President, Young Women’s President, and Young Women’s camp director. She especially loved serving the Young Women.

Marge had a green thumb and a love for gardening and growing plants and was good at keeping her plants alive and thriving.

Marge was always found baking rolls or treats to share with her neighbors, friends, and family. She is especially known for her amazing famous out of this world rolls. Marge always put everyone else first before herself. She lived for her family and loved them unconditionally. She had the most beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She loved celebrating holidays with her family especially Christmas. She loved having everyone at her house on Christmas Eve celebrating her Swedish ancestry with a Swedish meal consisting of Swedish meatballs, potatoes, brown beans, and rice pudding. She made some of the best homemade treats and sweets for Christmas and always had them out to share.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents Judith Elizabeth Sjoberg and Ralph Stevens Rieben, husband Furless Junior Houskeeper and son Dustin R. Houskeeper. She is survived by daughter Teri Plitt, son Greg (Dawn) Houskeeper, daughter Tonya (Tony) Martinez, son Randy Houskeeper, daughter Apryle (Brian) Moss, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, UT from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 11^th Ward building, 115 E. Wicker Lane, Bountiful, UT. A viewing will also be held prior to the services Friday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. She will be buried in the Bountiful City Cemetery.  Luncheon following interment for family and close friends.
