Marian Jensen passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at home in Ballston Lake, New York. She was born in Arthur, Ontario, Canada, with two brothers and five sisters. Three sisters and one brother have preceded her death, as well as her parents.
She attended Arthur Public and High School, Hamilton School of Nursing associated with McMaster University, University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Utah State University, obtaining her PhD.
She took piano lessons while in Arthur and completed the highest exams then. She contemplated becoming a piano teacher, but as you can see, she opted to follow her older sister into nursing. She taught nursing at Brigham Young University for many years and had many wonderful students and patients.
She married Richard Alma Jensen in the Salt Lake Temple on June 20th, 1962. Richard died in 1990. They have two children: Kenneth Richard Jensen and Jean Yvonne Jensen. Marian has 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The love of her life was her family. She loved her husband Dick, her children Ken and Jean and their families, as well as her sisters and brothers, a niece and nephews, and their children.
She made pajamas every Christmas for many years and quilts from the pieces left over. Marian loved to garden and preserve the goods from the garden. She enjoyed doing family history and sharing this love with others.
Marian joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and was a faithful member. She served as a temple worker and later worked at the Joseph Smith Building in the church's family history program. She also served as a service missionary at the Family History Library. Her most significant church calling was to go Visiting Teaching each month.
She is survived by her son Ken (Cindy) Jensen of Ballston Lake, New York, and daughter Jean (Brent) Larsen of Orem, Utah, and their families.
