Marie Jenkins

May 8, 1958 — December 19, 2010

Marie Elm Jenkins, age 52, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010, at her home in Woods Cross, Utah after a year long battle with cancer. She was born May 8, 1958 to Axel Ferdinand Elm and Irma Webster in Ogden, Utah. Marie grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. While attending Weber State College, Marie was grateful to have found her eternal companion Glen G. Jenkins. They were married in the Ogden, Utah Temple for time and all eternity on August 2, 1978. They enjoyed 32 wonderful years together. After college Glen and Marie made Woods Cross their home. Marie always loved Woods Cross because of the many friends and neighbors she and Glen found there. They found Woods Cross to be the perfect place to raise a family. Marie was always happiest when involved with her family. She felt fortunate to be a mother and a homemaker, which she truly loved. Being a homemaker was her chosen profession and she was proud of it. Marie and Glen have six children; Jacob (Joellen Smith), Jared, Justin (Rachel Chambers), Thomas, Amanda, and Ryan; and four wonderful grandchildren. She is survived by her mother Irma W. Elm and preceded in death by her father Axel F. Elm and sister Deborah Patterson. Her love of the gospel of Jesus Christ was a driving force in her life. She was a faithful and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to serve and would do anything asked of her. Her most important goal was having all her children active in the church. She is the mother of four return missionaries with one preparing. Her daughter received her Young Womens recognition award and all her sons became Eagle Scouts. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Woods Cross North Stake Center, 1509 W. 1500 S., Woods Cross. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main St., Bountiful and on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment- Plain City Cemetery.
