Marie Montgomery

June 20, 1938 — June 28, 2014

Marie passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, June 28, 2014. Marie was born June 20, 1938 and raised in Michigan. She was the youngest of 1 sister and 2 brothers. While living in Romulus, Michigan, Marie was blessed with 3 children (one son and two daughters). Marie and her family eventually moved to Utah, where she settled in the Davis County area. While living in Davis County, Marie accepted a job working at JC Penney’s in Bountiful as a receptionist. Although shy, Marie liked going to “The Westerner”. It was there she met Robert “Bob” Montgomery, her true love, and lifetime companion. On June 23, 1981, six months after Bob and Marie met, they were married. Combined all together, the couple shared 7 children. After they were married, Marie was able to quit her job and stay at home. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and bowling. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. Marie’s daughters recall Marie always canning food in the summertime and making her “world famous” strawberry shortcake. Shortly after Bob and Marie were married, the owner’s of “The Westerner” invited Bob and Marie to teach western dance together at the club. They were inseparable, always doing various activities together.
Marie passed on from this life June 28, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Bob; 7 children; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
