Marilyn Mott

January 18, 1957 — July 3, 2014

On July 3, 2014, Marilyn, our sweet mother, loving wife, devoted grandmother, and caring friend passed away after a long battle with cancer, while surrounded by the people she loved.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 18, 1957, to William L. and Mae N. Thomson. She grew up in Granger with her brother Reed Thomson. She graduated from Granger High School in 1975 and then went on to attend LDS Business College.
Marilyn treasured her testimony in the LDS church. She was sealed to her loving husband Daniel Mott on June 10, 1978, in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved serving in nursery, primary and library, and was employed by the LDS church for several years in their genealogy department.
In her free time, she loved to garden and remain active. She could often be found walking anytime she needed to go anywhere. Marilyn also enjoyed traveling and saw many places around the world. If asked though, she would say that Disneyland held many of her most precious memories due to the time spent there with her family.
Marilyn loved her husband Dan, delighted in her children LaPriel (Dane Henman), Gershom (Lacy Bright), and Cat, and adored her beautiful grandkids Peyton, Aiden, and “Baby Kohen”. She will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Layton Hills Stake Center, 2300 N. University Park Boulevard Layton, UT. A viewing will be held for family and friends July 8 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St. Farmington, UT and prior to services on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am at the stake center. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, UT.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to CNS Hospice and the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their loving care.
