MarJean Prescott Freeman

August 2, 1929 – December 15, 2017

 

MarJean Prescott Freeman passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

 

MarJean was born on August 2, 1929, in Sharon, Idaho, to John Levi Prescott and Ida Lucille Wixom Prescott. She was raised in Sharon and graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho.  She married her sweetheart Grant Lamarr Freeman in the Salt Lake Temple on May 23, 1947. They were married for 69 years and shared many happy memories together while living in Garden City, Tooele, Idaho Falls, Brigham City, Logan, and Bountiful. 

 

MarJean was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.  She was an outstanding cook and gardener.  She looked forward to holidays and birthdays and made each one a special event.  She will be remembered for the love and support she always showed to her family.   

 

MarJean worked for the Cache County Recorders Office in Logan, UT, and as a receptionist for an Optometrist office in Bountiful, UT. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities, including ward and stake Relief Society and Primary.  She also worked in the Logan Family History Center and Bountiful Temple. She happily served others and enjoyed learning from each new experience.

 

She is survived by her children Brent Freeman (Penny), Cheryl Rasmussen (Sterling), and Candace Freeman.  She has six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Grant, her daughter Mariann, and her parents Lee and Ida Prescott.  Her family is comforted knowing she will be reunited with her beloved husband, daughter, parents, siblings, and many other loved ones a who have passed before her.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mueller Park LDS Stake Center, 1800 E Mueller Park Rd, Bountiful, UT.  A viewing will be held prior to funeral services from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
