Marjorie Conway

March 30, 1930 — April 1, 2013

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on April Fool’s Day after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Passing on this date most surely makes her chuckle! Marjorie’s nickname was Duffy due to her Scottish ancestry. Duffy was born to Florence Agnes Neal and Leonard Walmer MacDowell in Tees, Alberta Canada. She lost her parents at a young age but kept their memory alive and would often comment, “Mama MacDowell is watching over us”. Duffy met Bill Conway on a blind date and on September 26, 1953, they were married. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a great cook! She loved all types of music (especially bagpipe music), reading, golfing and swimming. She was an avid dog lover. Although Duffy was a “city girl”, she loved spending time in the mountains. She retired from the Department of Defense at Kelly Air Force Base, on March 31, 1993. Duffy is survived by her daughter, Patti Sanchez, son Doug Conway, son-in-law, Richard Sanchez, grandsons, David Neal Sanchez and Daniel Luis Sanchez (Wilmington, NC) and one great grandson, Ronin Lee Sanchez. The family would like to express our thanks to Welcome Home Assisted Living and South Davis Home and Hospice. Duffy was able to spend her final days surrounded by her loving family and with caring, compassionate caregivers for whom we are eternally grateful. Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Ogden, Utah on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 2:00PM. Interment will be at the Conway family plot at Little Lake Cemetery in Peterborough, Ontario Canada. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
