To know her is to love her. Our beloved mother, nana, old nana (great-grandmother), wife, and sister, passed away on October 6, 2022, surrounded by her entire family as her favorite song, Hallelujah played. She was 87 years young. She was a member of Eckankar. She enjoyed living in the home that she built with her husband in Layton, Utah. Together they had three daughters, Angela, Gayla, and Paula; five grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Andrew, Riley, and Dominic; four great-grandchildren, Mollie, Ian, Major, Allyse; and three grand dogs.
Marjorie was a true yellow rose of Texas. She was born and raised in Brownwood, where she met her husband, Eldon. Together, they were married for 69 years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending her time with family, going to plays, taking long drives in the autumn time, and baking and cooking. She especially loved making southern foods like cornbread, steak fingers, beans and greens, and fried okra. She made sure that no one left her house hungry.
She lived life fearlessly and had fun in whatever she was doing. She had a lovable spunk to her and a quick-witted personality where you could always count on her to give an honest opinion. Her comedic timing was always spot on, her jokes were so funny, that often times she would crack herself up first before making it to the punchline. But her contagious laugh was always the best part.
She was an honest, kind, caring, and compassionate person. She was a selfless person that always made sure you felt cared for, never forgetting a birthday or special date. She showed her love through food, intentional gift-giving, quality time, and thoughtful actions that will continue to inspire her family to carry on her legacy.
Nana’s family will be celebrating her beautiful life on Friday, October 14th, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Kaysville Space located at 16 South Main Street, Kaysville, UT 84037
