Mark Alan Hunter

February 25, 1957 — February 1, 2021

Mark Alan Hunter, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home, with loved ones by his side, on February 1, 2021 after a valiant 3 year battle with cancer. He was born February 25, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mark is the son of James Murdoch and Mildred Moore Hunter. He grew up in Bountiful, Utah where he loved to play softball. He graduated from Bountiful High School in 1975. Mark served a 2 year Latter Day Saint Mission in Scotland and Ireland. He later attended ITT and earned an Electronics Associates Degree leading into building robotics and electronic objects such as the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.

He married Cindi Timbrel in 1981. They had 2 sons, Brandon and Randall. They later divorced.

He married Vickie Henderson Russell Hunter on September 12, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Mark gained a daughter and son-in-law from Vickie’s previous marriage.

He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish in his canoe, backpack and camp, especially with his 2 sons. He enjoyed tinkering with things, fixing anything, and was a precise woodworker making things such as night stands, stand-up mirror, tables, and a 3 ft. Noahs Arc and animals.

He also was an avid baseball fan and loved to play the game.

Mark loved serving in many church callings and attended the temple weekly. He also volunteered for every mill assignment and gave freely of his time fixing things for his wife’s business and helping his friends in projects needing to be done.

He was a kind, patient, gentle soul and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Hunter; his children: Brandon Hunter (Jennifer), Randall Hunter, (Echo), Dallas Russell (Steve); grandchildren: Olivia Hunter, Adalynn Hunter, Lyla Cooper, Cruz Cooper, Kai Hunter, Eli Hunter: brothers: David Hunter (Judy), John Hunter (Christelle), and sister: Karen Cosby. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jill.
