It is with some degree of sadness mixed with equal amounts of gratitude and optimism, we announce the departure of Mark LeRoy Forman from this universe to destinations unknown. Mark’s credo in life could be taken from the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, and specifically, Bilbo Baggins: “I’m going on an adventure.”
Mark, until recent years and declining health, had a life of adventure. He included all who wanted to participate in his adventure. From his early years as a scouter, a short tour of England and Wales as an ambassador of Jesus Christ, and work as a Systems Administrator for several companies, Mark’s life exuded kindness and inclusion.
Later in life, Mark became a serious writer – he and his brother had always told and wrote stories from their youth – and his stories and participation in the writer’s life at conferences and other events continued his good natured approach ensuring everyone felt like they mattered. Mark and his Adventurers Wanted alter ego, Alex Taylor, exemplified what human beings can be.
Your smile, your laugh, and your ability to make us all want to go on an adventure will be missed. We love you, Marky! See you on the other side.
In lieu of flowers, please purchase your favorite book, write an inscription of why it is your favorite book, and share it with someone.
A graveside service will be held at a future date for friends and family. The date and time will be shared on Mark’s Facebook page.
