Mark Scott Peterson

July 21, 1970 — February 1, 2015

Mark Scott Peterson, beloved husband and father and a man of honor, strength, and integrity, passed away February 1, 2015. He was born to Cecile (Reese) and Scott D. Peterson in Bountiful, Utah, on July 21, 1970. He attended Viewmont High School, where he made many lifelong friends. He served a mission in Jacksonville, Florida, and attended the University of Utah and Westminster College.  He began working at Fidelity Investments,  followed by his current position at the State of Utah's Department of Financial Institutions.  He was a soccer coach, served in two bishoprics and many other callings, and was a rock in his family and his community.
He met the love of his life, Traci Smith, and they were sealed in 2003 in the Bountiful, Utah Temple.  They have four beautiful children: Nathan Scott (10), Matthew Henry (Happy 9th Birthday!), Brooke Elizabeth (7), and Ashley Marie (4).  Mark's family was everything to him, and he leaves many broken hearts behind him.  He is survived by his wife and four children; his parents; brothers: Brent, Craig (Heather), Kevin (Natalie);  and 5 amazing nieces and nephews.
All services will be held at the Woods Cross Stake Center, 2064 South 800 West, in Woods Cross, Utah. Friends may call on Friday, February  6, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 7 at 11:00 am with a viewing beforehand from 9:30 -10:30 am. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
Friends of the family have set up a memorial fund at Zion's Bank under the name, "Mark Peterson Donation Account," for anyone wishing to make donations.  
A heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have helped ease the burden of the family in your various ways. Words cannot express our appreciation.
