Marsha Rigby Sill passed away at home on April 27, 2021 surrounded by her children and grandchildren, after suffering from the effects of pancreatic cancer.
She was born October 3, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William and Areta Rigby. She was the youngest of five children and raised in Centerville. Marsha loved growing up in Centerville, it was an innocent era. She had a special group of friends that have remained close to this day. They lovingly called her Ish, a nickname given to her in high school. Marsha graduated from Davis High School in 1965.
She later met and married “Monte” Sill in 1967 in the Salt Lake temple. He preceded her in death in 2004. They raised a family of three and lost a baby shortly after birth. Marsha patiently cared for her husband for several years until his passing. She and Monte had strong testimonies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many callings in the church, her last and favorite being on the committee for the LDS Humanitarian Service Center. For 7 years she turned part of her home into a sewing center where she lovingly made bibs, blankets, clothing and other items for donation.
Marsha created a comfortable beautiful home; this was a way she expressed and showed her family how much she loved them. Her love for her grandchildren was special and those bonds were personal and loving. She had a quiet strength and faith in God that saw her through many challenges. Through her lifetime her qualities of quiet grace, meekness and acceptance grew to something admired by many.
Her nurturing love and patience will be deeply missed by her daughters Appen O’Berry and April Black and Son Graydon Sill (Aimee) and her grandchildren Gwen, Ashley, Max, Kate, Jane, Kayla, Carter and Morgan and her beloved cat Sammie
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 4th at the LDS Church located at 160 South 300 East, Centerville, UT 84014. Friends may call prior to services from 9:30-10:30 at the church.
The family wishes to thank Susan Horrocks, Debbie Dawson, family, friends, neighbors and ward members for their love and support. And the wonderful people from Brio hospice for their exceptional care.
