Jenny Hansen, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, returned to her Heavenly home on Monday, June 9, 2014. She was the last surviving child of Anna Kathrine Olsen and Karl Christian Pedersen. She was born in Tylstrup, Denmark in August of 1929, their sixth child. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong and abiding faith in the Gospel and in the Plan of Salvation.
Jenny immigrated to Utah in 1950, where she met and married the love of her life, Benny I. Hansen. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Benny lovingly cared for her after her multiple strokes made it impossible for her to care for herself. He sat at her side, holding her hand and feeding her after her last stroke took away her ability to stand, to walk or to feed herself. Until his health made it impossible for him to be there all day, he sat by her side, never wanting to leave her alone. She is a former resident of Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Laverkin and Hurricane, Utah.
She is survived by her husband, Benny I. Hansen; her children: Ann Catherine Edelman, Benny I. Hansen, Jr., and Carolyn D. Ingrum. She is also survived by four granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and three half-siblings.
Jenny was a very loving person, who never met a stranger. She spent the last five months of her life at Pioneer Care and Rehabilitation Center in Brigham City, UT., where she shared that love with all who cared for her. The family wants to thank all the physicians and staff that lovingly cared for her at PCRC, at the Brigham City Community Hospital, and Integrity Hospice.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West.
