1945-2012

After a two year courageous battle with bile duct cancer, Mary Ann Simmons Miner, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family while awaiting a liver transplant.
She was born Nov. 13, 1945 in Payson, Utah the daughter of Lawrence and Mildred Simmons. She grew up in Springville Utah, and while attending Springville High School she met her eternal companion, Douglas Ray Miner. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Oct 28, 1966. They have 4 children and 18 grandchildren. She was a skilled dental assistant for 30 years. She served in many church callings and particularly enjoyed being the ward organist and playing at the Bountiful Temple. She was a happy, joyful, positive woman who brought a smile to everyone who crossed her path. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Survived by her husband Douglas, 4 children, Rebecca Crooks, AnnaLee (Steve) DeDen, Paul (Becca) Miner, and Kathleen (Cameron) McBride, 2 sisters Jeneel (Richard) Johnson, Carolyn (David) Nielsen, 1 brother Jim (Nancy) Simmons, brother-in-law Richard Duke and 18 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dalene Duke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1st at the Heights Stake Center, 33 S. Moss Hill Drive, Bountiful Utah. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful, Thursday, May 31st from 6-8 p.m. and at the stake center from 9:45-10:45 prior to the funeral service.
