Mary Carol Dickison

August 21, 1930 — October 24, 2024

Our sweet mother, Mary Carol Graham Dickison, passed from her mortal sojourn on October 24, 2024. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Carol was born August 21, 1930, in her home in Fairview, Utah to George Que and Agatha Marie Graham. Up until her second grade of elementary school, the family spent summers in the nearby town of Milburn. As a young girl, Carol was an exceptional student and enjoyed riding horses.

She attended Fairview Junior High and North Sanpete High School in Mount Pleasant, Utah. Her passions and talents during this time included music, dancing, cheerleading, Pep Club, sewing, typing and shorthand classes.

Carol later attended Snow College, earning an associate degree, and Brigham Young University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. While attending BYU, she met her future husband, Ben, in a religion class. Carol and Ben were married on September 17, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Her occupations included stenographer, secretary, teacher’s aide, and elementary school teacher. Most of her life was spent as a loving mother and homemaker. Carol’s hobbies included needle work, crocheting, sewing, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing games, and shopping. She was an active participant in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carol served in many organizations. She especially loved teaching the sisters in Relief Society and playing piano for the primary children well into her eighties.

Mom was a kind, quiet, and gentle soul. She was a tireless and loving caregiver for both her mother and husband. Her devotion and love for her family lives as an example for her posterity of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren which number 105.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, Harold, Robert, Shirley, and Charles, and son-in-law Richard Loser. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) Petersen, Robert (Diane) Dickison, Michelle (Mark) Goodman, Jeff (Chari) Dickison, Brett (Laura) Dickison, and Lisa (Greg) Morris.

The children express deep gratitude to the staff at Covington Senior Living in Farmington, Utah and the leadership of the Steed Creek Branch for their tender and devoted care of Mom.
