Mary Elizabeth Gore

Mary Elizabeth Phillips Gore (86) passed away peacefully with her granddaughter by her side on December 2, 2012 at Bel Aire Senior Living in American Fork, Utah.
Mary was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to John Albert and Lorinda Christina Swenson Phillips on July 31, 1926. She graduated from Provo High School. Mary was sealed to her eternal sweetheart, Alma Harley Gore Jr. in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on October 9, 1946; they were extremely blessed with 8 children, 29 Grandchildren and 39 Great Grandchildren.
Mary served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, Relief Society, Primary, and the Scouting program. As an Ordinance Worker in the Provo and Timpanogos Temples, as well as two Missions, the Sidney, Australia Mission and in the Washington DC Temple Mission.
Mary truly taught our family how to endure to the end with grace, love, and patience. She showed her love for her Father in Heaven by her example, her humility, and her endless service to her family and Savior. She loved to paint, play the Piano, read the scriptures and spend time with her Family.
Mary is survived by her brothers Carlos (Phyllis) Phillips, Paul (Joanne) Phillips, Mack (Carolyn) Phillips, her sisters Ruby Nicol, and Joy Baird. Her children Alma Gore, Karl (Julie) Gore, Vickie (Steven) Haigh, Donald (Kathryn) Gore, Rebecca (Mack) Holt, Sarah Gore, Jonathan (Stephanie) Gore, and Gail (David) Waters and all of her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband Alma, her parents (John and Lorinda Phillips ), Her Father & Mother-in-law Alma H Gore Sr. and Queen Victoria Varn Gore, her sister Ora Lee (Jesse ) Nutall, Maria (Willie) Blocker, Carol (Bill) Lee; Brother-in-law’s Varn Gore, Brig Nicol and Niff Baird.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses, CNA’s, & aids for their tender care of Mary over the past few years.
We invite friends and family to remember Mary’s life at Funeral Services to be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Pacific Drive 2nd Ward, 507 West 700 North, American Fork, Utah, 84003. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, 84010, and Saturday at the Church prior to the Funeral Services from 12 pm to 1 pm. Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
