Mary Ellen Carr Allred

February 14, 1933 — December 27, 2015

Mary Ellen Carr Allred, wife of Blake B. Allred, passed away surrounded by her family on December 27, 2015, unexpectedly from health related issues.  Mary Ellen was born February 14, 1933 in Vallejo, California, to Marion Elmo Carr and Ellen Lamont Carr.  She died at the age of 82.  Mary Ellen and Blake B. Allred met at BYU and were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 21, 1953.  Mary Ellen and Blake made their home for 40 years in Bountiful, Utah.  Mary Ellen was an air-force wife, supporting and following Blake through his air force career as they raised their family, with children being born in Utah, Texas, Montana, California, and Washington.

Mary Ellen was fiercely loyal and supportive of her family and friends in all of their endeavors.  She supported everything her family did, whether it was letting Blake build an airplane in the basement and garage, having meals ready for family after ski trips, or cheering on her children and grandchildren at their games and school functions.  Mary Ellen loved travelling with Blake where they reconnected with family and friends, often travelling with her siblings, or road trips with her husband.  She never missed a birthday, always sending personal notes and post cards when travelling.  She loved the wonderful commandments found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints, and served a mission to Houston, Texas with her husband.  Mary Ellen loved her church callings and her social connections through the church.   Mary Ellen was an avid reader, whether it was a good novel or the scriptures.

Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Blake B. Allred of 62 years.   They have four living children; Mary Lynn (Mark) Case of Farmington, UT, Boyd B. (Annett) Allred of Gunnison Utah, Kathy A. (Robert) Reeder of Ketchum, Idaho, James Lamont Allred (Deceased), and Robert B. (Cynthia) Allred of Anthem Arizona.  Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren (another one on the way).  Bless this family.   She had four siblings Lamont (Billie) Carr, Janelle (Ron) Stanger, Wally (Dianne) Carr, and Trinette (Jeff) Mitchell.   A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, December 29th from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, in Bountiful, Utah.  Funeral services for Mary Ellen will be held Wednesday, December 30th at 11 am.  Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the Oak Hills Ward Chapel in Bountiful, Utah 455 S 1200 E, Bountiful, Utah.   Interment will follow the service at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
