Mary Emmett McDougald Davis

March 7, 1924 — April 13, 2016

Mary Emmett McDougald Davis, 92, passed away in her home, Wednesday, April 13, 2016.  She was born March 7, 1924 to David Cullen McDougald and Mary Emmett Daum in Comanche, Oklahoma.

Mary graduated from Grand County High School in Moab, Utah. She attended Brigham Young University, and Weber State University with an emphasis in accounting and business. Mary worked as the Clinton City Recorder. She owned and operated Mary's Health Shoppe in Layton, for over forty years.

She served as a missionary in the Texas-Louisiana Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married James Reid Davis in the Salt Lake Temple on March 18, 1949. She served in many leadership positions in her faith, to include Stake Relief Society President, Stake Missionary, and Bountiful Temple Worker. Mary and Reid served missions on Temple Square, Toronto, Canada, and Little Rock, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers David Cullen, Kenneth Eugene, William Dean, sister Clara Francis, and grandson Stanley James Davis II. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Louise Markle, Children Stan (Nadene) Davis, Cheryl (Kevin) Kemp, Susan (Carl) Stephenson, and Charlene (Clint) Fleming. She has ten grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Clinton City Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10-11:15 AM at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, prior to services.
