Mary Jean Morgan Welker, June 30, 1941, a delightful spirit from Heaven entered the hearts and home of parents Jim and Mary Beth Morgan. On December 13, 2015, after a wonderful life of love and service, Mary Jean returned to the Spirit World to be received by her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mary Jean was born in Salt Lake City then moved to Orem and then Ogden. In Ogden she
attended Lincoln Elementary and Mound Fort Junior High and began her life-long love of piano. Moving to North Ogden she graduated from Weber High School. After graduation she attended Weber State College where she met her Eternal companion, Glenn R. Welker at the LDS Institute of Religion. Mary Jean and Glenn were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 12, 1960, and enjoyed 55½ years of marriage.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mary Jean has a strong
testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Atonement and the Resurrection.
Mary Jean is preceded and survived in death by so many friends and family who love her. She is preceded by two children, Richard (Rick) and Mary Lynne, and her parents, Jim and Mary Beth Morgan. She is survived by her husband Glenn, two children – Michael (Nina) Welker, Melanie (Kendall) Cottam–11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as siblings – Kathryn (Gary) Larsen, Susan (Brent) Todd, James (Jackie) Morgan, Barbara (George) Dennis, and Nancy Morgan, plus a myriad of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be welcome to meet with the family 6-8 pm Wednesday, December 16, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, and prior to the funeral 10-11 am Thursday, December 17th at the Bountiful Utah East Stake Center, 650 East 2150 South in Bountiful. The funeral will be held at the Bountiful East Stake Center at 11:00 am followed by interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the caring hands of the doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Center for their loving care and services. We would also like to thank Rocky Mountain Home Services and Hospice for their tender care. Additionally, we would like to thank the caring Relief Society of the Bountiful 28th Ward for their loving service.
