Mary Jo Fagen Paget

January 22, 1951 — February 7, 2023

Just 16 days past her 72nd birthday, Mary Jo passed away peacefully after a long and heroic battle with Parkinson's.
Mary was so much more than where her story began in Redwood Falls, Minnesota and where she left this earthly world of Bountiful, Utah. It was her life in the middle the mattered to her and us the most.

So many years of being called Grandma Chee Chee, Mary was an extraordinary Daughter, Mother and Grandmother of which we loved so deeply. Mary devoted every waking moment to caring for her loved ones. Selfless and loving she splurged with endless trips to the library and magical moments at the museum.  Hours just spent watching the clouds in the sky while sprawled out on her freshly cut lawn.  Her joy of having abundant beds of wildflowers and cutting you a slice of her freshly grown tomatoes. Chee always showered us with the gift of a trusty crocheted washcloth, endless batches of freshly baked applesauce cookies and would whip up a treasured dinner of SOS all while snuggling you in a warm flannel blanket, she had made just for you. Mary had a selfless pursuit of service and devotion that she paid forward to her mother, children and grandchildren daily. She was a one-of-a-kind soul that asked for nothing and offered everything.

Mary being an adventure seeker was always wanting to be in mountains toasting S'mores, sprawled in the sun at the beach or a taking a good road trip with her windows rolled down listening to John Denver in seek of the best cherry pie. If Chee wasn't beating you at cards, she was chatting us up with her limitless knowledge of National Parks, Space Exploration, the treasures of Paleontology, offering her heartfelt patriotism and love of American History.

Mary boasted that her trip to Heaven was already more magical than most because she was escorted by her proud parents Murvine and Rita Fagen, her beautiful daughter Michelle, and grandchildren Tanner, Alexis and Sean. She is now at a party of loved ones that we all wish we could be part of.

Mary leaves behind: Daughter Stacey (Jason) Patton, Sons Timothy (Marchel) Paget, Daniel (Ahtanya) Paget, and grandchildren Konnor, Ayden, Caitlyn, Cassidy, Caiden, Rylan, Mackenzie, Marley, Morgan, AJ, and Colin.

A private service will be held for her Children and Grandchildren. For all that wish to remember Mary and in lieu of flowers we as a family ask that you visit your mom often, take your son or daughter to lunch, read a favorite book to your grandchild, go on a trip with your best friend. Live in the here and now with all who you love and treasure, and in her honor.

We love you to the moon and back Chee, we'll watch for your love in the stars and clouds.
