Mary Lynn Mace Baer passed away Sunday morning June 3, 2012, in her sleep following a fracture of her hip.
She was born in Cedar City, Utah on November 17, 1925 to William Mace and Pauline Olsen Mace. Mary Lynn moved to Salt Lake City with her family at age eight and attended elementary schools and East High School there.
She started her work life at age 13 when she was placed in charge of a Western Union Telegraph office. She went to nursing school after graduation and served in several hospitals in Salt Lake City, Ohio State University and Denver General Hospital. Mary Lynn finished her professional career as a medical librarian at Holy Cross and Primary Childrens Hospitals. She has been very active in her church serving in many callings. She also has been active in music, having sung in the Utah Symphony and Utah Opera.
She is survived by her sister, Martha (Wayne) Robbins and preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret, Georganna and Charlotte. Mary Lynn married Dr. Robert D. Baer in 1950, and they are the parents of five children. They have 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren all loved by Grandpa and Grandma Baer!
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Bountiful 13th Ward, 1356 North 650 East. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Saturday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at Bountiful City Cemetery.
