Mary Swalberg

November 4, 1927 — June 7, 2013

Mary Patricia Harrison Swalberg died peacefully on June 7, 2013. She was born November 4, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the 4th child of Clinton Henton Harrison and Olga Victoria Morck. She had two older brothers Clint Henton Jr. and William Merrill and one sister, Dorothy Lou.
She graduated from East High in 1946 and soon after attended the LDS Business College. In 1949 she traveled to Maryland to spend some time with her sister Dorothy and her family. She had planned on getting a job and staying, but after three months she came home because she was homesick.
Soon after she started working for her father in his dental practice and then in 1956 left for her mission to the Western States Mission.
On the 8th of October 1958 she married William Oscar Swalberg in the Logan Utah Temple, and together they raised three children.
Bill and Pat lived in Salt Lake City and Bountiful Utah, and then moved to Paradise, Gridley and Fort Bragg, all in California. After almost 20 years of living away from home, they moved back to Utah.
Pat was the happiest when she was at home surrounded by her family. She loved the gospel and found great joy in her many church callings. Her favorite callings involved music. She was the branch chorister, the choir director and she was often requested to perform in musical numbers.
Her greatest joy was her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband, William Oscar Swalberg, her daughter Ruth Ann Johnson (Stephen), Clint Eugene Swalberg (Laurie) and Kenneth Harrison Swalberg. At the time of her death she had 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her example of love, kindness and devotion to family will be felt for generations to come.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
