Mary White

August 6, 1925 — December 10, 2014

Our sweet little Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend passed away peacefully on December 10, 2014, surrounded by all of her loving children. She was born in Bountiful, Utah on August 6, 1925, to Benjamin Leo and Alice Jane Kagie Moss. Mary “Chick” was the 4th of 5 sisters. She married Ernest L. Alexander, August 6, 1942; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ernie passed away June 8, 1962. She married Carl Alexander in 1964; they were later divorced. She married Douglas D. White February 1, 1989; he passed away in 2011.
Mom grew up in Bountiful on 500 South and attended Davis High School; she talked about riding the Bamberger train to and from school. She got her nickname “Chick” because her job on the Moss homestead was to feed the chickens. Mom loved being with her family, getting her hair done every week, traveling, dancing, bowling, golfing and camping. She loved serving as Primary and Relief Society teacher.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Alice; older sisters, June, Alice and Betty; her first sweetheart Ernest Alexander and by her second sweetheart Douglas D. White. She is survived by her children: Kent (Carolyn) Alexander, Vickie (Wes) Chapman, Patti (Bill) Rassmussen, and Annett (Mitch) Eiting; and her youngest sister, Myrne Collier. Mary had 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will truly be missed.
We would like to thank Mom’s special neighbors and friends who checked in on her and Heartwood Home Health and Hospice for all of the care and support they have given.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West. A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful.
