Matt, our beloved father, son, brother, and friend passed away January 17, 2017, from complications associated with influenza. He was surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Cody Meredith, sisters: JoAnn Gibson, Amy Meredith, and Kristen Oakden, mother and father Kevin and Kathy Meredith, and his niece Holly, whom he loved like a daughter. Matt was born on August 15, 1977. Matt lived his whole life in Davis County. He graduated from Davis High School where he was a member of the football team. He spent his working career in the electrical industry, where he was well respected. Matt lived his life for his son Cody. They played video games and watched movies together, and just hung out as friends will do. He was a beacon of caring and love to all those around him. He loved watching basketball and especially football. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and whomever was playing the Green Bay Packers. His humor, laugh, and good nature, will be missed by all. He was blessed with good friends, among whom were his cousins. They were there for him always and were with him when he rejoined our Heavenly Father. Matt, we will miss you and will see you in our Heavenly Father’s mansion.
We are extremely grateful for the kind words of love and support that have been shown. So many have asked what they can do. We would appreciate if you would e mail us your memories, stories, pictures, etc., so his son can know parts of his dad’s life that he will never have the chance to hear from Matt. E mail to kevin@jrclight.com.
