Loved son, brother, uncle and friend, one amazing son of God, Matthew Madsen Palmer passed away June 26. 2014 Born September 7, 1994 to Kevin and Rowena Palmer in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the youngest of the three. He graduated from Woods Cross High in 2013 and was serving in the Madagascar Antananarivo Mission.
He was kind and gentle and always helping others. Matt loved the outdoors, hunting, Lake Powell, basketball and playing the piano. Matt played with his heart and soul which could be felt by others. He was able to make several CDs that even now, will help others to know who he was. Matt was a good listener, best friend to all, talented musician and artist. Matt was a giving person. For his Eagle Scout project he helped Primary Childrens Hospital by collecting over 1000 boxes of new crayons and over 700 coloring books. Even in passing, Matt continues to give through organ donation so many others may live.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg for Matthew’s care. They would also like to thank Pres & Sis Cook, Dr & Sis Barton and the Senior Couple missionaries from the Africa Southeast Area.
Matt leaves behind his parents Kevin and Rowena, two siblings Nicholas (Victoria), Jennifer (Zachary), a niece Allie and nephew Axton, along with many other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Sat July 12, 2014 at the Woods Cross North Stake Center 1509 West 1500 South Woods Cross, Utah. There will be a viewing Fri, Jul 11,2014 at Russon Brothers and on Sat from 9 – 10:15 before services. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.russonmortaury.com
