Maureen Ditty

Maureen Flynn Ditty, our Nana, Mom, Wife and Sister, passed away March 30, 2011 at her home in Bountiful UT. Maureen was born March 25, 1936 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England to Harold and Gladys Flynn. She is the fifth of six children. She enjoyed the first 20 years of her life in Leeds where she was educated in the public schools then continued with her advanced education at Thoresby Girls Academy. She then left England to join her sister in Utah. It was here that she met the love of her life with whom she spent the past 53 years. She married Joseph Mullen Ditty December 20, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have four children. Maureen spent most of her married life living in Bountiful where she had many wonderful friends and neighbors. Maureen was devoted to her family and counted them as her greatest treasure. Her greatest role was that of wife and mother. She was a protector, teacher and nurturer to her family and is greatly loved and respected by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren; Valerie and David Barton, Scott and Bailey; Neil and Stephanie Ditty, Stephen, Robert, Jessica; Andrew and Karalee Ditty, Jillian, Tyler, Ryan, Grace. She is also survived by her sister and best friend Joyce Jensen of St. George, UT, sisters Margaret and Edna of Leeds, Yorkshire. Two brothers, Fred of Wakefield Yorkshire and Stephen of Leeds, Yorkshire. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Stephen. Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful 43rd ward building, 990 Chapel Drive, Bountiful UT on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. where a visitation will be held from 10:45 – 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
