There are just not enough words to describe such a wonderful person who was so beautiful inside and out. Maurine was a sweet, gentle, caring, forgiving and lovable person with a great disposition who also had quite a sense of humor. She was genuinely devoted to all her family and friends and always wanted the best for all of us. She was very kind hearted seeing the best in everyone even when the best was tough to find. She certainly was a role model for all. She was a very strong, determined lady who enjoyed working at the Davis County School District as a cook in the kitchen at both Viewmont and Woodscross High. She retired in 2007 at the age of 83 showing her loyalty, stamina and dedication. She especially loved her cats who sat by her side each and every day keeping her company as she lounged in her recliner watching her favorite TV shows. They also kept her warm at night sleeping by her feet loving her as much as she loved them. She is now united once again with her very special cat named Angel that was lost years ago. Maurine always enjoyed doing things with her family that included traveling the country especially to Los Angeles, California and Lincoln City, Oregon, driving out to Wendover for country concerts at the Peppermill, taking long car rides and going out to dinner.
She really enjoyed going to plays, events and outings with her grand and great grandchildren. She was a great story teller and we loved hearing her life experiences growing up in the Manti and Mayfield area of Utah and of all the shenanigans she got herself into. She especially enjoyed her morning Coca-Cola that got her day started out just right. Those who knew her are better for it and those who had the privilege of having her in their lives feel a huge void left in their hearts from her passing. She will truly be missed by all.
