Heaven gained an angel when Mavis Louise Hildt Walker passed away December 5, 2017 at her residence in Ogden, UT.
She was born January 16, 1936 in Garden City, Utah to Carl August Hildt & Anna Rozella McCann Hildt. Fisher McDermott was also honored to be her father. She had 11 brothers and sisters. We are sure her parents welcomed her with open arms and what a joyous reunion that must have been.
She was sealed to Vance H Walker on April 18th 1958 in the Logan Temple. They had four children: Pamela [Steven] Moss, Julie [Jim] Francis, Jeffrey [Cherie] Walker & Craig Walker/Angie Register; their grandchildren are Megan, Brooke, Jason, Mandy, Britnie, James Brock, Braden, Sage, Cade, Zan, Cristian, Tait, Chelsie, Seth, Weston, Cobe, Caden; and 15 great grandchildren. Sometimes she forgot to take time for herself because everyone else was more important to her. She loved her kids more than anything else in this world.
Louise passed her exams and became an X-ray technician in 1958 and worked at LDS Hospital, later moving on to South Davis Hospital and then Bountiful Medical Center.
She served with the scouts, primary and young women’s organizations in the LDS Church. Along with her husband Vance, she served two missions in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Louise enjoyed a good joke and would laugh until she cried. We know that she is looking down on us and laughing at the goofballs that we are.
She was obsessed with her household chores, especially the laundry! You could find her every Monday morning, at 6 a.m. sharp, dragging the laundry basket down to the basement! Occasionally, if you peered out your window at 4 a.m., you would see her in her nightgown fixing the sprinklers!
“Weezy” has moved on to her “Deluxe Apartment in the Sky” and we will always remember the good times with loving hearts.
