Max Rowley Whiting

June 30, 1929 — November 30, 2015

Max Rowley Whiting beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, peacefully passed away Monday, November 30, 2015, surrounded by his family at the age of 86, due to natural causes.

He was born on June 30, 1929 in Milford, Utah to Randall Whiting and Mary Lillian Rowley.  He was the youngest of three children.  He spent his youth in Garrison and Delta, Utah.  He graduated in 1947 from Weber High School where he met his high school sweetheart, LouJean Blaylock.  They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1949.

He retired from Kennecott Copper Corp. as M & S Accounting Supervisor in 1979.

Max was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served in many callings, his favorite being a Church Service Missionary at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Kaysville for 7 years.

He loved getting the family together for boating and family vacations.  Favorite times were spent at Lake Powell on the family houseboat “The Milky Way”.  Regular trips to Disneyland were also cherished family memories.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Glen, sister Leona Anderson Riding.  Survived by his wife, LouJean, daughters: Vickie (Greg) Merrill, Cindy (Dan) Bain, Wendy (Bart) Smith, son, Jeff Whiting, Debbie Whiting. Grandchildren 14, Great-grandchildren 34, with 2 more coming.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at the Bountiful 10th Ward Chapel located at 1145 N. 200 E., Bountiful, Utah, with a viewing from 11:00 – 11:45 A.M. prior to the service.  There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M., Friday, December 4, 2015 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.  Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Services.
