Maxcine Pheobe Hillman

Our sweet mom, Maxcine Pheobe Larsen Hillman age 95, passed away November 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Mammoth, Utah on August 27, 1923 the daughter of Ruebin Leroy Larsen and Pheobe Gertrude Pace Larsen, and sister to Earl R. Larsen who preceded her in death.

After graduating from West High School in Salt Lake City at 16, she apprenticed in a beauty shop and soon received her beautician license.  Maxcine married Reece T. Hillman in Salt Lake City on April 12, 1945.  Reece passed away December 13, 1996.  While Reece served in WWII, Maxcine lived in Salt Lake City.  Upon his return they continued to live in the Salt Lake area, but soon settled in Bountiful where they raised their three children. When her children were older, she worked at Carr Stationery and later, for The Boy Scouts of America Council office until she retired.  She was a wonderful example of love and dedication to her family.  She loved spending time with her family, the mountains, gardening, needlepoint, traveling and her true passion, reading.

She is survived by her son Dean (Cherie) Hillman, Bountiful, daughters JoAnn (Steve) Calder, Foxfield, CO and Karen (Allen) Sims, Bountiful, and by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.
