Maxine Kerr

February 6, 1944 — January 1, 2017

BOUNTIFUL-Maxine Kerr, 72, died peacefully January 1, 2017. Born February 6, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Max and Grace Moss Kerr.
Maxine grew up on the family farm in West Bountiful, where she developed a strong work ethic and found a love for animals and nature. She was an athletic young girl that excelled in academics and sports. In her youth she especially enjoyed the many hours spent riding horses in the mountains above Bountiful.
Maxine attended Westminster College and graduated with honors from St. Mark’s School of Nursing. A 35 year career in nursing not only provided a means of support but also enable her to touch the lives of many people. She had strength of character and a determination that allowed her to be successful in her chosen profession. She was a woman of courage, perseverance and hard work.
Maxine loved the beauty in her life, her family, her home, garden and the many animals she cared for over the years. She was proud of her ability to overcome life’s obstacles and to face the challenges with courage, integrity and faith.
Maxine is survived by sisters, Mrs. Stewart (Geneal) Walton, San Diego, CA., Martha Kerr, Grantsville, UT.; and brother, Wendell M. (Joe) Kerr, Bountiful. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gordon Moss Kerr
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Bountiful 31st Ward, 585 East Center Street, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held 1 hour prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful.
