Maxine Wall

April 19, 1934 — November 19, 2014

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Maxine Ruth Fletcher Wall, 80, passed away peacefully November 19, 2014 in her daughter’s home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born April 19, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard LeRoy and Ruth Davis Fletcher. She married her eternal companion and best friend, Lyle William “Bud” Wall, on September 17, 1954, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have two children, Scott and Kathy.
She graduated from Granite High School and worked with several different companies as a secretary with exceptional typing skills . Maxine loved learning and in her later years she took many institute and continuing education classes.
For a number of years, she and Bud owned and operated tuxedo rental stores in Salt Lake City. She worked tirelessly providing tuxedos and wedding dresses for many people. Her attention to detail and genuine care left every customer looking their best.
She was a devoted and faithful member of the LDS Church. She served her Heavenly Father in many callings, including visiting teacher, Jr. Sunday School coordinator, nursery leader, Primary teacher, Merrie Miss leader, Relief Society teacher and counselor in both stake and ward Relief Society presidencies. Her favorite callings were when she was able to serve the children and youth.
One of Maxine’s greatest joys was helping and serving others. She was a wonderful cook and many, many families enjoyed dinners provided by her. Whenever there was a need she was always there to help.
Her family and Church were the most important things in her life. She loved taking pictures of her family in all of the fun activities they did together. She loved using those pictures to make scrap books for her grandchildren. Each Christmas she would give her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren an ornament selected especially for them. These ornaments represent Maxine’s individual love for each member of her family. She cherished the time she had with her great-grandchildren and always gave them baggies of candy when they came to visit her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father.
She is survived by her son, Scott W. Wall and wife, Linnea; her daughter, Kathy W. Smith and husband, Bill; grandchildren: David S. Wall, Eryn (Cody) Beardall, Jenny Smith, Michelle (Chris) Robinson, Stacey (Mark) McGowan; great-grandchildren: Baylie, Michael, Porter, Kendall, Elsie Robinson and Brooklyn, Carter, Cole McGowan.
