Maxwell Pond

Biography

Maxwell Kay Pond was born January 31, 1926 to Rufus Pond and Cora Stocks Pond. He returned to his Heavenly Father June 4, 2013 surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Kay grew and worked on the family farm in Fairfield, Idaho. Graduated from Fairfield High and served in the US Army 1944-46. Married Myrl Packham on November 13, 1946 and later served a LDS mission to Canada. Worked on his farm until 1960 then moved his family to Bountiful, Utah where he became a Plumbing Contractor and started Pond’s Plumbing & Heating. After retirement, he and his wife served an LDS mission to Dearborn Michigan. Upon their return they continued their service in both Salt Lake City and Bountiful temples.

Preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters, a granddaughter and 2 great grandchildren. Survived by wife, Myrl Packham Pond; sister, Glenis Packham; their nine children: Deamileen & William Salisbury, Gilbert & Deanna Pond, Lucile & Kevin Lewis, Jean & Grant North, Janet & Dan Dabney, Ralph & Annette Pond, Carl & Cindy Pond, Terry & Russell Figgins, and Max & Rebecca Pond; 46 grandchildren; and 96 great grandchildren.

Viewing service will be at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, Friday, June 7, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service will be Saturday June 8, 2013 at 2:00pm at the LDS Chapel 3707 South 800 West, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
