Mayme Edith Peterson

January 22, 1925 — November 29, 2015

Mayme Edith Haycock Peterson, age 90, passed away in the comfort of her home on November 29, 2015 while surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on January 22, 1925 to David Haycock and Lily Crane in Riverton, Utah.  She was raised in Salt Lake City with her 4 siblings.  Mayme married the love of her life, Lloyd, on August 22, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  After raising her 3 boys, she began working in the Missionary Department for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She will be remembered for her love of her family, her supportive nature, and her sincere heart.

Mayme is survived by her sons Larry (Valerie), Paul (Annette), daughter-in-law Diana; grandchildren Nikki, Alex, Amanda, Melissa (Tim) Beard, Matt (Erica) Adams; great grandchildren Jamison, Patrick and Scarlett, and numerous extended relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Lloyd, son Scott and grandson Wayne.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving and compassionate care provided by Canyons Home Care and Hospice, with a special thanks to Karen and Heidi.

The funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East.  The viewing will be held on Sunday December 6, 2015, from 6-8 pm, and also prior to services on Monday from 9:30-10:45 am. The interment will be at the Herriman Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Mayme H Peterson Fund for the Alzheimer’s Association by visiting http://act.alz.org/goto/maymehpeterson.
