On October 17, 2024, Maysel Epling Rushton peacefully returned from her earthly home to her Heavenly home.
Maysel was born on December 10,1935 in Richfield, Utah. As a young girl she endured some difficult trials. She was on bed rest for two years due to sickness. This proved to keep her heart strong and helped her live a long life.
They lived mostly in Marysvale, Utah.
After High School Maysel moved to St George and graduated from Dixie College with an Associates degree. She worked in the Church office building in Salt Lake City. She loved to read and loved to learn new things. She was extremely intelligent and had an answer to many questions.
She married John Rushton in the Salt Lake temple on April 27, 1962.
They had four children. She was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother.
John’s work started in Hunter Utah and took the family to The Philippines, California and back to Bountiful Utah.
John and Maysel traveled to many places around the world. Maysel held Church callings and had many close friends. Her home was a gathering place and lovingly referred to as a bed and breakfast as she took many people in.
Our lives have been impacted by her prayers and her testimony which she generously shared.
She loved becoming a Grandma and she lived long enough to become Grandma Great to her great grandchildren.
Her life was sealed by her testimony and will be felt by the generations of her posterity.
Maysel is preceded in death by her husband John Walter, mother Bertha Riding, father Lester Epling, brother Del Ray, brother-in-law Paul Fullmer, son John Todd and granddaughter Amy Angelbuer.
