Melba Oliverson
On Saturday, April 29, 2017, our dear sweet mother, Melba Gottfredson Oliverson, quietly left us to be with her husband, son, and many other loved ones. Her story is one of amazing love, charity, and service to her family and those who came to know her. Her life was influenced by her love of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her loving spirit touched everyone that knew Melba. This was especially evident towards her family. She was very competitive when playing family games and loved to put her own twist on the rules. Melba glowed with the spirit of Elijah. Her genealogy work will affect her ancestors and descendants for many years to come.
Melba worked at Hill AFB. She developed and enjoyed many friendships over the years while working there. The influence of her father taught her to love the great outdoors. She never missed an opportunity to go camping with her family and extended family. She mastered the art of puffed wheat balls, pineapple cookies, pumpkin chiffon pie, and rice pudding. Melba also enjoyed painting pictures for her grandchildren. She will be truly missed.
Melba is survived by her children: Joan (Drew) Worthington, Tambara (Ralph) Allen, Keith (Tawnie) Oliverson, Sheri (Bart) Allen, her brother Gary (Carolyn) Gottfredson, 17 grandchildren: Emily, Sarah, Cortney, Betheny, Jody, Christian, Jaime, Chase, Britney, Ben, Breann, Brian, Dustin, Jennie, Shaun, Brad, and Lauren. 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way. Melba was preceded in death by her husband Earl T. Oliverson, her son Mark Earl Oliverson, her sisters Glenna & Lavern, and her parents Elden & Marelda Gottfredson.
Special thanks to her daughter Joan and her family for taking such good care of Melba these last few years. This opportunity led to a very special bond she had with her great-grandson Dax who quickly became her favorite Denver Bronco buddy.
We would also like to thank Ogden IHC hospice services, especially Ashlee N., AnnMarie, Lisa, Charlotte, Sherry, and Sam. Special thanks to Melba's physician, Dr. Landon Preece
