1933 ~ 2016

Melvin Carl Robertson, passed away peacefully at his home Nov. 1, 2016.  He was born Mar. 31, 1933 to Wells Jex Robertson and Alta Mae Phillips in Cresent, Ut.  He married Betty Butcher on March 21, 1953.  After serving in the military in Tacoma, Washington they returned to Utah and bought a home in Bountiful in 1960 where they still live having raised 6 children.

Melvin worked at Hill Airforce Base where in 1977 he contracted Gulliain-Barré Syndrome with polyneuritis from the swine flu shot.  This forced him into early retirement at age 47.  Over the next 35 years he struggled everyday, never giving up.  His family was a huge part of his life with everyone remaining close, by vacationing together and many, many family celebrations.  His last 6 months on Hospice brought everyone even closer by spending countless hours to keep him in their home and happy.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty, 6 children; Vicki (Mike) Fairbourne, Mike (Cindy) Robertson, Mark (Yvonne) Robertson, Terry (LaRee) Robertson, Wendy (Paul) Heugly, Connie (Zach) Tedrow, 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.  He is preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers and an infant daughter Cindy.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Lakeview Memorial Park, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful.  Friends and family my visit Friday, Nov. 4th, between 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and Saturday from 12:45-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.  Online guestbook at www.russonmory.com.
