Melvon Curtis Jensen passed away January 19, 2021. Curt was born to Christina and Melvon Christian Jensen, January 26, 1934 on the family farm in Virginia, Id. His family moved from there to Westwood, Ca. and then Portland, Or. where he graduated high school. His family then moved to Minn. where he met his wife Jeanine. They were married December 16, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised 5 children.
While they raised their family, Curt worked for the FBI for 30 years, which took them to Ut., Ok., Fla,, N.J., Ill., and finally to Bountiful, Ut., where they have lived surrounded by good friends for the past 49 years. During his last few years with the FBI, Curt was coordinator for the FBI National Academy, and loved working with all of the Utah police officers who graduated from Academy. Upon retiring from the FBI, he worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the security dept.
Curt had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in the church throughout his life. He cherished the time he was able to serve with Jeanine as mission president in the Argentina, Salta mission, and as service missionaries, where they made wonderful friends.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Melvon Christian Jensen, and Christina Olson Jensen, and by his daughter, Debra Jo Jensen Hall. He is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Jeanine Sax Jensen; his children: Brent Jensen (Evelyn Jensen), Terri Ostler (Grant Ostler), Carolee Arave (Rich Arave), Brian Jensen (Carrie Jensen), Dave Hall, and Mae Peterson; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Curt was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He led his family with love and faith, and will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held Sunday evening, January 24, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful. Funeral services will be private, but will be streamed live at 10:00 a.m., Monday morning on Facebook @ Russon Mortuary & Crematory.
