Merlin Lewis Adams

May 27, 1926 — November 19, 2019

Merlin Lewis Adams joined his parents and other family members on November 19, 2019 at the age of 93. Merlin was the oldest of seven children and was born in 1926 in Layton to Lewis H. and S. Louise Palmer Adams.
Merlin attended schools in Davis County graduating from Davis High School in 1944. He married his high-school sweetheart Rayone Edmonds in 1944 and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.  Merlin and Rayone celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in June.
Merlin entered the Army Air Corps in 1944. He served in the Pacific theater of operations and later in Alaska. He was a very proud veteran of WWII.
Merlin loved the outdoors, being a Scout Master, and camping at Sourdough Wilderness Ranch with his family. He enjoyed observing wildlife while camping.
Merlin retired from Cordon Co. as an inspector and parts department manager.
Merlin is survived by his wife Rayone, sons Tracy M. Adams (Annette), Dwight L. Adams (Rachelle), and Wesley D. Adams (Rebecca), and daughter Nina Rae Hiatt (Glenn). 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Also one brother, Kent Adams, and many nieces and nephews. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and his son Leslie E. Adams
The family would like to express their gratitude to the William E. Christofferson Hall of Heroes for their loving care and compassion to Merlin.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at 12:00 pm with a viewing from 10:45 to 11:45 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
