Merrill Orgill

Merrill Orgill 1929 – 2011 Our loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Merrill Orgill passed away on January 10, 2011 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on April 18, 1929 in Daniels Utah to James W. and Ina McDonald Orgill. Merrill was a veteran of the Korean War and served Honorably from 1951-1953. He married Frieda Jones on January 4, 1951 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 60-year anniversary. He and his wife took a lot of pride in their farm in Chalk Creek where he enjoyed working with his land and livestock and where they raised their family. He retired in 1994 from Amoco. He was an active member of the Upton LDS ward and enjoyed serving in many callings including Bishop and Counselor. He and his wife served a honorable mission in the Ogden Temple. He is survived by his loving wife Frieda, children Cheryl (Jerrold) Willoughby, Jeff (Julie) Orgill, Kevin (Shannon) Orgill, Rodney (Molly) Orgill, Kirk (Rachel) Orgill all of Coalville and Kimberly (Jason) Greer of Laketown. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and sister Wanda (Veral) Mair. He was preceded by his brothers and sisters and 3 grandsons, Brian Orgill, Kameron Orgill and Keatin Greer. Funeral services will be held Friday January 14, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Coalville Stake Center, 40 No. Main Street. Friends may call Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 and Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 at the Coalville Stake Center. Internment will take place in the Upton Cemetery.
